Same-Day Instant HIV Test

This instant HIV test is for anyone who believes they have come into contact with someone who has HIV and may be at risk of catching it themselves. The test can give you the answers you need in just 20 minutes whilst you wait in the clinic, so it is a great choice if you need answers fast.

The test is carried out using a blood sample. When you arrive at your chosen private sexual health clinic, one of our friendly clinicians will help you collect the sample before testing it right then and there. 

This test gains accurate results against HIV in under 30 minutes. This means you can wait within the clinic whilst you get your results. Should your instant HIV test come back positive, a member of our medical team can advise on next steps.

This test offers accurate results from 28 days after exposure. This is because it can take that long for your body to produce enough HIV antibodies or antigens for the test to detect. Testing too early might give a false negative result. If you believe there is a possibility that you came into contact more recently, our early detection screens may be more useful. As this is an Instant HIV Test, offering results whilst you wait, it is only available by visiting one of our specially selected clinics. You’ll be assisted by a nurse or doctor in collecting your sample, before they test it then and there using the latest state-of-the-art testing panels. Here’s the step-by-step process:

All of our private sexual health clinics are based in a discreet setting with convenient opening times and plenty of spaces to park. The best bit? Because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening, even if you’re sitting in the waiting room. Just let the receptionist know who you are upon arrival.

A friendly nurse practitioner will take you to a private room to take your samples. The HIV test only requires a small blood sample for accurate results. The blood sample is a simple finger-prick sample, which is then dropped on the panels before we add the reagent to it.

Once you’ve deposited your samples, you’ll be asked to wait in the clinic waiting room while the reagent has time to react to your samples. Once your results are ready, they’ll discreetly let you know and advise on the best next steps to take.
