Hepatitis B and C Profile Test

Diagnose Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C using the same sample with our hepatitis blood profile test

The Hepatitis Profile Test can diagnose both Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C using the same sample. It’s particularly useful for people living with HIV who are at greater risk of contracting hepatitis or for people who believe they’ve been exposed to the disease. If left untreated, hepatitis can be very harmful to one’s health, so it’s a good idea to get tested regularly. If you are looking for in-depth testing for hepatitis, as well as other STDs, explore our Visa Certificate and Early Detection tests.

Tests for

Hepatitis B Hepatitis C

People living with HIV have a heightened risk of contracting Hepatitis B and C. Around 1 in 10 people with HIV have Hepatitis B, whilst 1 in 4 people with HIV have Hepatitis C. Therefore regular testing against hepatitis if you are living with HIV is essential. This test is also useful if you believe you have been exposed to hepatitis and want peace of mind about your sexual health status.

This test has a quick turnaround time, with results often returned within 1 day of the sample hitting the lab. All samples are sent to the laboratory using Royal Mail 1st Class Post or by courier. You will receive your results as soon as we receive them either through our online portal or via the phone.

This test offers accurate results 28 days following initial exposure to Hepatitis, therefore it should not be used before this time. If you are concerned about Hepatitis and it’s been less than 28 days since exposure our Early Detection tests offer accurate results 10 days after exposure. If you have any questions contact our customer services team today.

This test is useful for people who are at greater risk of catching Hepatitis B or C, including those living with HIV. If you’re requiring this test as part of a certificate for work or visa reasons, please ensure that it is relevant to your requirements by contacting our customer services team before booking the test. Find out more about travel certifications on our Visa Tests page.

Phlebotomy Station Procedure

You order a phlebotomy station test. A sample collection kit will then be sent to you by post. The sample kit can be dispatched to an address of choice or, if discretion is required, the order can be delivered to a post office for collection.

Upon receipt of the test, the patient is required to contact YSH to book their appointment. This can be done via email ([email protected]) or telephone (0161 660 2599).

Once the appointment is booked, you will receive a confirmation of appointment, including the full address of the clinic, with instructions.

If urine or swabs are required, these should be done prior to attending the clinic appointment.  Only the blood sample will be taken in a clinic.

Photographic ID must be taken to the appointment and you must remember to take the sample collection kit with you.

Once the nurse has drawn blood, they will hand the sample back to you for posting. You need to take a photograph of the tracking label, before placing the sample kit in a post box.

Results will be uploaded to the online portal once available from the laboratory.

Clinic Procedure

By choosing the clinic testing option, you’ll be able to choose from 100+ private sexual health clinics located in all major UK cities. All of our clinics offer a comfortable, discrete setting with friendly nurse practitioners.

To book this test, start by pressing the ‘Book Now’ button above. This button will take you to a page where you can select the most convenient clinic for you based on location, appointment times, and accessibility.

Our clinics are all based in a discreet setting and because many of them are general health clinics, there’s no reason why anyone will know that you’re there for a sexual health screening. Simply let the receptionist know who you are when you arrive, and they will send one of our friendly nurses to greet you.

The Profile 7 test requires a blood sample only. The blood sample is collected by a trained nurse or doctor. They’ll take care of you and ensure you’re comfortable, but it will require the use of a needle.

Once you’ve deposited your sample, you can simply leave the clinic. We will send the samples to our nearby laboratory on the same day. Once your sample has been tested, you will be notified of your results straight away either via our online portal or another contact method.
