Collection methods -
Blood
This test is for UK adult performers who require Syphilis RPR and TPPA testing for certification so that they can shoot both in the UK and internationally.
This test gains accurate results against Syphilis less than a day after reaching the laboratory. Performers visiting our Wimpole Street clinic will usually gain results the very same day, but please note that this is not guaranteed.
This test offers accurate results from 14 days after exposure.
Phlebotomy Station Procedure
You order a phlebotomy station test. A sample collection kit will then be sent to you by post. The sample kit can be dispatched to an address of choice or, if discretion is required, the order can be delivered to a post office for collection.
Upon receipt of the test, the patient is required to contact YSH to book their appointment. This can be done via email ([email protected]) or telephone (0161 660 2599).
Once the appointment is booked, you will receive a confirmation of appointment, including the full address of the clinic, with instructions.
If urine or swabs are required, these should be done prior to attending the clinic appointment. Only the blood sample will be taken in a clinic.
Photographic ID must be taken to the appointment and you must remember to take the sample collection kit with you.
Once the nurse has drawn blood, they will hand the sample back to you for posting. You need to take a photograph of the tracking label, before placing the sample kit in a post box.
Results will be uploaded to the online portal once available from the laboratory.
Clinic Procedure
This test is only available in clinic, giving us the ability to verify your identity using photo ID.
To book this test, simply press the ‘Select This Test’ button above. You’ll then be taken to our booking page where you can choose the best clinic for your needs.
You’ll be required to bring photo ID so that our phlebotomist or nurse can verify your identity for your certification. Present it to whoever takes your sample.
The Syphilis & HIV Adult test requires a blood draw. This is a standard blood draw taken with a needle by a professionally trained nurse or phlebotomist, but it may hurt a little.
Once you’ve deposited your sample, we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll notify you of your results using our online portal as soon as they’re reported by the laboratory.
